As a not-for-profit, Movimientos has been recognised in the nightlife scene for its community-driven spirit and commitment to showcasing unique artists from around the world. Movimientos’ events often fuse music with social justice themes, giving audiences fresh sounds while exploring identity, activism, and heritage.
On 7 and 8 November, Movimientos brought those 20 years of experience to life at the Jam Jar in Bristol and Hackney Bridge in London. The nights featured a lineup that reflected the music it has supported over the years: Chancha Via Circuito’s mystic cumbia rhythms and electronic grooves, Malphino’s psychedelic Mexican-Colombian dreamscapes, Baque Luar’s Afro-Brazilian harmonies,Panther Panther!’s retro-futuristic digital cumbia, DJ Arias’ global Latin beats, Bushbby’s high-energy Latinx club sounds, and Amancai’s vibrant Afro-Caribbean rhythms — all amplified by the incredible Suena Bien sound system.

The events buzzed with warmth and energy, truly celebrating cross-cultural connections through sound in the dancefloor. Movimientos celebrated 20 years as it does best: bringing people together while championing the freshest Latin American live music and DJs.
