DON ALIRIO
Don Alirio is the alter ego of Carlos Mario Mojica, a passionate music connoisseur, curator and researcher dedicated to the study and preservation of the sounds of Latin America. His musical selection celebrates the authenticity of the barrio, popular dances and sound systems, where devotion to a single element is declared: music. Salsa, funk, disco, cumbia, hip-hop, champeta, wave and even Arabic folklore enrich Don Alirio’s musical universe.
LOLA CALAMIDADES
Calamidades Lola is a record hunter and dj/selector born and raised in Barranquilla, a city on the Caribbean coast of Colombia with a powerful culture of celebration and where music is a sure path to joy and liberation.
She grew up surrounded by massive and colorful ‘picó’ sound systems that made the whole barrio vibrate with African and Caribbean rhythms. She currently lives in Berlin and much of her sound is influenced by her musical roots and her migratory experience.
SUMA PHAYIRI
Suma is a Latino Troubadour and founder of N.E.A Records. He is a songwriter, producer, selector, MC and cultural manager from Bogotá who’s piccante DJ sets are full of spicy tracks with a blend of sounds, including Psychedelic Latin Folk, Cumbia, and Caribbean Rhythms. He’s one of the main protagonists for alternative Latin sounds in London with regular live events & parties
AMANCAI
Amancai, the Colombian-born powerhouse with an unwavering passion for Afro-Caribbean music. Igniting dance floors at iconic UK venues and festivals, Amancai’s sets are infused with the vibrant sounds of Cartagena, Colombia where she spent her entire youth.
Amancai is a longtime friend, collaborator, and performer at both Movimientos and FLAWA and she now joins forces with them as one of the architects of Zaperoco. Together, they’re poised to unveil a night that transcends borders and celebrates their shared love for Afro-Latin and Caribbean rhythms.
