WARA
Influenced by the fieriest of contemporary Havana's Timba and Songo ("Cuban salsa") sounds, borrowing their biting horn lines from the times of the mambo and cha-cha-cha, whilst also covering pan-Latin genres such as Reggaetón and Merengue, Wara also have one foot in London's vibrant global underground: from Ragga, Dancehall and Reggae beats picked up off the Afro Caribbean scene to bass-heavy Hip-Hop and ska. The multicultural vibe that makes London so unique is abundantly present in their sound.
Sofree is a French, Spanish, Argentinian and Palestinian group mixing Hip Hop, Soul and Latin sounds.
Their debut EP "Raíces Distintas" is the first fruit of a coming together of two powerful musical forces - producer Freemachinist and vocalist and arranger Yasmeen Quintana. The project reflects the mixture of their influences and styles, on one side the groove of Hip-Hop and Soul and on the other one Latin sounds which are omnipresent.
Following several years frequenting Barcelona’s vibrant jam session scene, Yasmeen met numerous significant artists who participated in the project like Cuban saxophonist Julio Carbonell, the Brazilian guitarist and bass player Manoel Tosto, as well as Cuban MC Kumar Sublevao-beat who features on the song " Un Recuerdo ".
