Sociedade Recreativa (Brazilian Future Roots) + Maga Bo DJ Set

15.04.2016
#FLAWA2020 has prepared a night of non-stopping dance with Ms Nina, a young multidisciplinary artist from Argentina currently based in Spain. She achieved international recognition as a net artist, exhibiting at Junior High (Los Angeles), La Térmica and La Fresh Gallery, one of the most prestigious galleries in Spain. Her musical career has made her one of the key figures to understand the Latin rhythms that sound in Europe.
Get ready Dalston as we welcome the King of Afro-Brazilian Bass, Maga Bo straight from Rio with his brand new live project in collaboration with Forró de Rebeca: Sociedade Recreativa. Then Bo will be jumping on the decks for his heavy stripped back take on Brazilian roots and bass - it’s floor shaking and speaker breaking, carnival at its filthiest.

Sociedade Recreativa
A must listen mix of traditional music of Brazil with urban cultures like hip-hop, dub and bass music. Sociedade Recreativa emerges as the encounter of the Brazilian troubadours of Forró de Rebeca with global beats ambassador Maga Bo. Hybrid and eclectic, their music explore a wide range of sensations based on the juxtaposition of electronic textures and the original sounds of traditional instruments such as berimbau, accordion and rabeca.

Maga Bo
Originated from Seattle, living in Rio de Janeiro since 15 years, Maga Bo had worked and performed in over 40 countries as a producer, DJ and musician, with collaborators the likes of Mulatu Astatke, Issa Bagayogo and releases on Tru-Thoughts, Ninja Tune, Cumbancha, and Soundway. His love for mixing and absorbing hard & earthy afro-brazilian rhythms and the futuristic blips and bass of sound system culture led him to meet the most brazilian of the french bands. Lead by Seu Matuto, a brazilian living in France, Forró de Rebeca delivers some hot vibrations from Nordeste.
