#FLAWA2020 has prepared a night of non-stopping dance with Ms Nina, a young multidisciplinary artist from Argentina currently based in Spain. She achieved international recognition as a net artist, exhibiting at Junior High (Los Angeles), La Térmica and La Fresh Gallery, one of the most prestigious galleries in Spain. Her musical career has made her one of the key figures to understand the Latin rhythms that sound in Europe.
We’re back at Notting Hill Arts Club to bring you a night of serious Latin and tropical vibes. This month we’ve got special guests Madera Verde, Aroop Roy, with Tash_LC warming up the vibe, plus live music from Zonama, all conspiring to move your body and your feet!

Aroop Roy is a musician, producer and DJ with over 10 years international experience. His unique take on tropical, jazz and soul has been supported by major tastemakers around the world. He’s making waves with his recent Brazil Breakdown edits on Gamm Records and his tropical infused House and Disco on Basic Fingers.

Aroop came onto the scene with the samba influenced 12" Too Long on London's highly acclaimed Jazz and Latin label Freestyle Records, followed up by his debut album Nomadic Soul which fused jazz, afro and latin with different elements of UK dance culture. He has been a guest DJ on Gilles Peterson's legendary Worldwide show and was selected to take part in the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy.

"Brilliant producer" - Gilles Peterson
"Aroop's music is sublime" - Rainer Trueby
"A knockout delight" - Blues and Soul Magazine

Madera Verde aka Chris Greenwood is a longstanding champion of global dance, both on the dancefloor and on radio (with his weekly show on Mi Soul); expect a musical meander across several continents and various assorted islands all with an electronic twist. A veteran of the London club scene (VILLA STEFANO, BAR CUBA, BAR RUMBA, CARGO, THE BIG CHILL), Madera is currently promoting his very own 4 day dance party in Croatia (next one August 2016?www.stopmakingsense.eu). Also somehow finding time to manage bands & promote his venue BEDROOM BAR in London.

On the warm up Tash_LC from Boko! Boko! A collective of selectors and DJs playing the best in forward thinking sounds from around the world. Expect plenty of afrobeats, kuduro, Kwaito, dancehall and tropical bass guaranteed to get you on the dancefloor!

Zonama sees a fusion of Afro-rock, Psychedelia and Desert Blues which draws on current and past Malian sounds, 60s/70s Garage, Zamrock, and Hendrix and Zeppelin inspired riffs. Born in 2014, the South East London Trio will be recording their long awaited debut EP this winter. Expect wailing solos and hypnotic basslines, soaring choral vocals and addictive beats, elaborate outfits and lots of noise.

PURE TROPICAL PARTY VIBES!! A favourite for Saturday night crowds in West London, Muévete is a monthly fiesta - a pure party version of Movimientos, with a dance floor-slammin' mash up of raw Latin beats and tropical bass. From the rolling Latin rhythms of salsa, cumbia, merengue and Samba to the raw urban flavours of reggaeton, Hip Hop, dancehall, moombahton, latin house, baile funk and dutty carnival rhythms, incorporating a healthy dose of African beats and global underground music.

Put simply Muévete translates as 'Move it!' so we're not messing around - straight to the dancefloor!
