Come join the Movimientos familia at Passing Clouds as we storm into 2014 in a whirlwind of carnival colours and the freshest sounds from the global and Latin underground. This February, we’re excited to be sharing this event with award winning festival pioneers Copperdollar, who will be hosting an exclusive London launch party album for their brand new compilation ‘The Back of Beyond.’ Copperdollar have honed their formidable reputation from Glastonbury to the National Theatre, and their label Freshly Squeezed is adept at fusing the Hispanic and Latin traditions with a uniquely modern twist. Like that wasn’t enough to make you reach for your dancing shoes, downstairs the floor will be bursting with live music from riotous big band the Voodoo Love Orchestra, as well as the infectious Afro-Latin jams of Animanz. Movimientos DJs follow on the decks to take the street party vibes into the morning, and just like that, ¡Todos, a bailar!

Voodoo Love Orchestra
Cumbia / Ska / Highlife / Bigband
Supernatural tropical brass band the Voodoo Love Orchestra is a riot of carnival attitude, global beats and theatrical peformance. Harking back to the big band sound of 1960s Latin America and Africa with infectious, maverick and irresistibly swinging street music, Voodoo Love is a globe-trotting ensemble encompassing Colombian Cumbia, Cuban Comparsa, New Orleans Jazz, Mississippi Blues, Nigerian Afrobeat, Jamaican Ska and Ghanaian Highlife to name but a few. A celebratory, brass heavy salute to the roots of carnival, these guys never fail to go all-out.
