The Fontanas + Cable Street Collective @ Passing Clouds
Friday 16th August
Passing Clouds hosts our two-floor killer night - it's easily the best club in Dalston and an institution to global music fans in the capital. This August Movimientos welcomes The Fontanas: Brazilian Funk meets Samba Soul, Ska and Bossa Nova. With support from Cable Street Collective, combining African, Reggae and Blues influences with conscious lyrics. Movimientos DJ crew Jader and Arias spinning their trademark new and underground Latin beats downstairs and the Udigrudi DJ Collective take on upstairs with their wicked retro Brazlian party tunes.
The Fontanas are specialists at whipping a crowd in to a funky Latin frenzy, they
deliver a set that makes the audience dance like 'carnival come early'. The band is comprised of hand-picked musicians who've played alongside the likes of Amy Winehouse, Mumford & Sons and Womack and Womack. With influences from across the globe, their feel good music finds its roots in the foothills of Brazil and Jamaica and defines its sound from their urban home in West London. Sweet, see you there with your carnival faces on.
