This December Movimientos is back in the building, warming Brixton up to dangerous temperatures with yet another storming line up of tropical beats and global flavours. The night kicks off with London Afro-fusion pioneers Niyi and Co, who deliver a cocktail of street poetry, hypnotic djembes and melodic guitars with strong reggae influences. We’ll be upping the tempo with electro-pioneers Pulenta, who join us direct from Colombia to share their fusion of traditional Latino styles with urban beats, hip hop flows and soulful lyrics. Later on it’s time to throw your hands up to reigning kings of Peruvian psychedelia, Los Chiches, who’ll be making the floor thump with their unique mix of Chicha rhythms, full-throttle Cumbia and amped-up tropical rock n roll. As if that wasn’t enough, Movimientos DJs will be spinning the best in Latin and global beats to keep the carnival vibes alive into the small hours.

LIVE ACTS:
Los Chinches
Peruvian Chicha / Psychedelic / Cumbia / Tropical
It’s been a big year for Peruvian culture, and Los Chiches, an 8-piece collective of European and Latin American musicians, are at the musical forefront of this vibrant movement. The Chinches serve up a unique blend of Chicha and hot Peruvian rhythms, which collide beautifully with the amped-up psychedelic melodies of the London-born keyboard and guitar players. A tropical / London musical explosion not to be missed!
