#FLAWA2020 has prepared a night of non-stopping dance with Ms Nina, a young multidisciplinary artist from Argentina currently based in Spain. She achieved international recognition as a net artist, exhibiting at Junior High (Los Angeles), La Térmica and La Fresh Gallery, one of the most prestigious galleries in Spain. Her musical career has made her one of the key figures to understand the Latin rhythms that sound in Europe.
Movimientos
Friday 20th February 2015

Following hot on the heals of carnival weekend Movimientos present a twisted carnival special with latin, tropical and globalista good vibes over two floors at Dalston’s finest musical hub Passing Clouds.

Ahead of their debut album release King Lagoons bring a true carnival for the senses with tropical influences from all over including 70s West-Africa, Cuba, Northeastern Brazil and North African mixing styles from Highlife, to Chicha, Samba, Toureg music and Neu. The band also incorporate a smell technician, outer worldly costumes, and operatic vocals.

Also joining us for a rare London gig the unique Orchestre Du Mont Plaisant?play lively blues and cinematic styles with influences soaring between Afro-Cuban grooves, Ethio-jazz, Congolese Soukous and Cumbia.

And also the wonderful Holly Holden with her bilingual pop combines catchy, soulful melodies and foot-tapping, tropical beats as her long-term musical links with Cuba and the wider Caribbean have left their mark on her sound.

Keeping the dancefloor jumpin’ Movimientos’ Cal Jader is joined by two international guests Lisbon's craziest tropical party starter La Flama Blanca plus Caracas' Tuki don Pocz (from Pocz and Pacheko) bringing classic vintage latin beats and tropical bass. And upstairs Udigrudi's Larissa hosts London's top Brazilian selector Limão for a journey through classic Samba and tropical vinyls plus more guests TBA.
