Movimientos presents @ Hootananny Brixton

21.09.2012
#FLAWA2020 has prepared a night of non-stopping dance with Ms Nina, a young multidisciplinary artist from Argentina currently based in Spain. She achieved international recognition as a net artist, exhibiting at Junior High (Los Angeles), La Térmica and La Fresh Gallery, one of the most prestigious galleries in Spain. Her musical career has made her one of the key figures to understand the Latin rhythms that sound in Europe.

More info on the acts

They Say Jump
Latin-Ska-Reggae Riot
Sounding like a lost refugee from a musical war between Latin America and the Caribbean islands, They Say Jump is an outcast, an orphan given solace on the stages of our summer festivals and parties. A wandering freak show without illusion, TSJ live is a carnival of sounds daring to test your imagination, expectations and screaming ‘dance or I will beat you’. Intricate in arrangement and with tightness that bites, They Say Jump are set to release their second EP at the tail end of 2012 before terrorizing the festivals of 2013. Long live They Say Jump!

The Turbans
Raw Middle Eastern Balkan-folk mayhem
A wonderful sprawling collective of multinational musicians from varying genres. Classical, Jazz, Middle-eastern, balkan folk and Celtic experience fused into something like a cloth wrapped around your head! For the last few years they have been ripping up festivals everywhere they go and for a brief spell in London they are collaborating with Turkish singer Dila Vardar.

Agemo
Funky Afro-Latin blues with a Yoruban twist
AGEMO is a blend of musical influences from the world over transcending genre and trend but often calling on the roots of Yoruban idiomatic expressions.
