Sounds from across the Latin American diaspora come together at Hootananny, as Lokandes present their fresh take on traditional Andean music, alongside Mr Pineapple and Okvoy’s Latin fusion and Jimena Angel’s electronic Colombian rhythms. DJ Talacha & Cal Jader will be on hand throughout the night alongside MC Fedzilla keeping things moving and connecting the dots.

Fronted by whirlwind musical maestro Kanti Qena their name is the combination of two words: ‘Crazy’ and ‘Andes’ which represents the intention of their music: Crazy music from the Andes. The project aims to create alternative music, taking the melodies and energy of Andean music and bringing it up to date; creating a fusion of traditional roots and Afro-Andean rhythms with other contemporary genres such as Reggae, Cumbia, Ska, Jazz, Son, Rumba Folk and funky Afro-Latin rhythms.

The sounds of Colombia & Argentina collide when Mr Pineapple and Okvoy fuse their influences from their home countries, the Anglosphere and beyond, as rock, hip-hip and psychedelic vibes come together with Latin American sounds and instruments.

Latin Grammy nominee Jimena Angel has had an extensive career spanning more than two decades playing in bands in Colombia. Her solo music finds her exploring a new sound, with Colombian rhythms, fused with electronic beats and acoustic instruments from around the world.
