Decks: DJs Arias & Mad Max
Movimientos' DJ Arias hosts the monthly fiesta for an uptempo Latino-Caribbean-Tropical soundclash vibe where classic rhythms get bastardised and twisted up for the modern dancefloor. Joining Arias on the decks is a new member of the Movimientos familia MadMax. Originally from Birmingham and now residing in London, MadMax from Whomanity Sound plays many forms of global and tropical bass music. With a strong influence from roots and dub music, Max blends original sounds into modern day electronic styles, celebrating musical cultures and genres from around the world along the way. Fresh from releasing his killer Zouk Bass - Dancehall mashups for free to download Max's star is on the rise with more tropical mutations in the pipeline - expect dutty vibes.
From 6.30 to 8.15, Peace Brigades International and Movimientos present the special screening of Hasta la Última Piedra (Until the Last Stone) – a documentary about the Peace Community of San José de Apartadó, Colombia. With Q & A with members of the Peace Community of San José de Apartadó
PURE TROPICAL PARTY VIBES!! A favourite for Saturday night crowds in West London, Muévete is a monthly fiesta - a pure party version of Movimientos, with a dance floor-slammin' mash up of raw Latin beats and tropical bass. From the rolling Latin rhythms of salsa, cumbia, merengue and Samba to the raw urban flavours of reggaeton, Hip Hop, dancehall, moombahton, baile funk and dutty carnival rhythms, incorporating a healthy dose of African beats and global underground music.
Put simply Muévete translates as 'Move it!' so we're not beating around the bush - straight to the dancefloor!

More info about Hasta la Ultima Piedra:
Hasta la Última Piedra (2006) tells the story of the Colombian Peace Community of San José de Apartadó, a village of small-hold farmers (campesinos) who refuse to be drawn into the violence despite being made targets by all of the armed participants in the conflict raging around them. As its members rebuild their homes and livelihoods following a brutal attack, they build a memorial to the innocent victims of that conflict.
