Consejo Nacional Indígena
The National Indigenous Congress was established in 1996, with the intention of being the home of all indigenous peoples. This organization emerged as the place "where the original peoples found the space of reflection and solidarity to strengthen our struggles of resistance and rebellion, with our own forms of organization, representation and decision-making." Their struggle is characterized by being "down, left and anti-capitalist."
The Indigenous Council of Government of this organization is integrated by a woman and a man of each language of the different regions where the towns, tribes and nations that conforms to the CNI are. They are calling for the rebuilding of indigenous peoples who were hit by the earthquakes in Chiapas, Oaxaca, Puebla, Guerrero, Morelos, Estado de México, Veracruz and Mexico City.
