04.05.2025

For one special ‘noche de Cumbia’ to coincide with the Cinco de Mayo Mex Fest Movimientos & Mexibrits join forces to present an unparalleled line up of music from around Latin America … Three UK debuts as Argentinian ‘cumbia trash’ exponent Rolando Bruno brings his incredible solo live show alongside DJ sets from Bolivian producer Susobrino fresh back from touring Mexico and the US as well as Mexican vinyl selectora, researcher and activist Hija del Nopal. There will also be a set from our friend and collaborator Gypsy Box and hosted by Mexican soundsystem specialist Krea.

All powered by brand new soundsystem Suena Bien London’s most anticipated hand built Sound System with 200% love for good vibes!

ROLANDO BRUNO
Influenced by psychedelic 60s rock and Peruvian cumbia, Rolando brings us an energetic show through pure Amazonian dance in “one man band” format accompanied by his iPad and guitar. Just the right dose of cumbia, global music and vintage rock. He has brought his “cumbia trash” sound to various ports around the world, including countless shows in Argentina and neighbouring countries, as well as several extensive tours of Europe and three visits to Japan

SUSOBRINO
Born in Bolivia and currently based in Brussels, Susobrino is an artist profoundly rooted in the rich culture of Latin America. His musical selections pay homage to the diverse rhythms of the region. Depending on the occasion, Susobrino guides audiences through Cumbia, Bolero and Salsa. Alternatively, he transitions into a full club experience, infusing heavy percussion and pulsating energy with sweat-inducing Reggaeton.

HIJA DEL NOPAL
Born and spoiled in Mexico. The Barranquilla Carnival, radio production and sound dances were the elements that triggered this project to spread tropical music. Hija del Nopal is a political commitment focused on the right to enjoyment and the recognition and dignification of the cultures of Abya Yala.

Inspired by Sonidero (Mexican sound system), Hija del Nopal researches and selects songs from diverse geographies and eras, mainly from the 50s-70s.
For her, the sonidero tradition is the guardian of the historical memory of tropical music. In addition, today it also represents a driving force in the production of contemporary cumbia.

In the same way as Sonidero, H del N aims to create spaces for dancing and enjoyment, moments of encounter and healing, sharing classic songs, but also those that did not have (and do not have) a place in the hegemonic tropical music scene.
