For the next edition of ¡Cumbia Mi Amor! Movimientos presents a Colombia special to tie in with it’s independence day (3 days prior) with 2 live acts ready to set the stage on fire including the brass powered Super Panela inspired by the golden age of the tropical big bands like Lucho Bermudez and Pacho Galan coming direct from France plus top Cumbia and Vallenato classics from the incredible UK Vallenato Kings and beautiful folkloric Afro-Colombian sounds from Taty Tambo Y Su Combo. Flores and Cal Jader keep the decks and the dance floor alight throughout the night.

UK Vallenato Kings 

One of the first Colombian bands in the UK bringing the legacy and origins of Cumbia & Vallenato, playing the rural roots style from the Montes de Maria region of Colombia’s Caribbean north, remembering Andres Landero the king of Cumbia, Los corraleros de Majagual, Lisandro Meza,Aniceto Molina among others with the voice and melodies of the accordion played by Nirk Molina (Monteria), adapting the sound of this European instrument to the expressiveness of the indigenous flutes (gaitas) alongside the voice and sounds of Javi Molina (Cartagena) on Caja/ Tambora drums next bold bass and the guiro of Eddy Fuerza Vallenata one of the pioneers in Vallenato music in the UK plus special guests.. The band’s fantastic sound represents the finest expression of this type of cumbia and vallenato, a truly Caribbean art form joined on stage by a crack squad of the finest Latin musicians in the London scene playing heavyweight Colombian-Caribbean music full of traditional Sonido sabanero, the most popular rhythms including Porro, Tambora, chande and Cumbia now a well-known genre across the world and known for its signature rhythm and introducing us into the tropical sounds of Son, paseo, puya, merengue and more..
