Colombian Independence Day: Viva Colombia with Dorance Lorza & Sexteto Cafe

20.07.2019
#FLAWA2020 has prepared a night of non-stopping dance with Ms Nina, a young multidisciplinary artist from Argentina currently based in Spain. She achieved international recognition as a net artist, exhibiting at Junior High (Los Angeles), La Térmica and La Fresh Gallery, one of the most prestigious galleries in Spain. Her musical career has made her one of the key figures to understand the Latin rhythms that sound in Europe.
To celebrate Colombian Independence Day this year we welcome none other than vibraphone virtuoso Dorance Lorza to Viva Colombia!

Dorance Lorza & Sexteto Cafe have been one of the leading bands in the vibrant and exciting London salsa scene since they formed in 1996.
Pioneering the worldwide “salsa con vibes” revival of the late 1990s, they were one of the first bands in Europe to favour the small combo salsa sound of 1960s/1970s bands like Joe Cuba Sextet/ New Swing Sextet/Pete Terrace Combo rather than that of the more common big brass-heavy salsa orchestras of the day.

An special night tribute from London to Cali including original and classic hits with a diversity of rhythms from salsa to Cumbia and introducing his new sound to the audience.

On the decks will join us our special guest Edna Martinez DJ from Cartagena de Indias bringing her Colombian Caribbean influence and selection of African organic rhythms, Tropical sounds, Champeta, Cumbia and a diversity of Latin vibes.

Presented by Latinos in London, Movimientos & Jazz Cafe.
