Having supported the likes of legendary South American acts Kjarkas (Bolivia) and Susan Baca (Peru) (the latter whom gave a glowing review of the band's performance) and following a recent collaboration with Juana Fe's Juan Ayala (Chile) Lokandes continue to make their mark as one of the truly exceptional live acts emerging from the Latin community in London. They take the melodies and energy of Andean music and mix it with Rumba, Reggae and Afro-Latin rhythms. The band unites musicians and instruments from Peru, Bolivia, Spain, China and the UK, and sets their highly original music, alongside socially conscious lyrics. Having released their first album two years ago they are currently working on the follow up due out in 2015.
