Balkan vs Cumbia London Flyer

Balkan vs Cumbia London

#FLAWA2020 has prepared a night of non-stopping dance with Ms Nina, a young multidisciplinary artist from Argentina currently based in Spain. She achieved international recognition as a net artist, exhibiting at Junior High (Los Angeles), La Térmica and La Fresh Gallery, one of the most prestigious galleries in Spain. Her musical career has made her one of the key figures to understand the Latin rhythms that sound in Europe.
Movimientos bring legendary international night Balkan vs Cumbia to London with an all star lineup of DJs and live acts. Balkan beat pioneer and all round legend Shantel will be making his debut at the Hootananny for what is set to be an almighty dance floor shaking set alongside fellow DJ Gypsy Box and live music from local Cumbia acts Nirk Molina and Brixton Cumbia Association. A genre clash for the ages, this is not one to miss.

Shantel (DJ Set)
Balkan beat legend

Shantel has shown the world that it really does exist: music without frontiers. Having made a name for himself remixing Balkan music with electronic beats he knows how to turn a club, a concert hall or the dusty earth of an open-air festival into a temporary autonomous zone – a place where integration isn’t something to be debated at length, but where it actually becomes reality - playing musical treasures from South-Eastern Europe, the Middle East or the Mediterranean in a new context.

Nirk Molina
UK Vallenato King

Well known as the UK's "King of Vallenato", Nirk Molina is one of the shining lights of the London cumbia and vallenato scene. Playing in many of the established London tropical bands he has now put his own outfit together playing a mix of folkloric cumbia and vallenato classics.

Brixton Cumbia Association
Crazy rhythms, unexpected covers and mucha joda!

A cumbia group based in Brixton whose members hail from a variety of backgrounds - get your body moving to the rhythm of "cumbia villera" and another Argentinian classics.

DJ Gypsy Box & Friends
Electro Cumbia meets Balkan trail-blazer

Originally from Mexico, Gypsy Box has resided in Spain for years, where he has set himself apart as one of the pioneers of the Balkan-Cumbia scene in Europe. A tireless traveler, he has already toured half the world carrying this Latin-Balkan signature sound and making everybody move on the dance floor.
