¡Adiós General!

To mark 50 years since the military coup in Chile, Movimientos & Naomi in Blue presents ¡Adiós General!

Bringing together London musicians from the Latin America diaspora, with artists including Naomi in Blue and Malena Zavala, ¡Adiós General! will celebrate Nuevo Pop Chileno and the songs of Los Prisioneros, Aparato Raro, Los Pinochet Boys and more – the Chilean rock bands who drove the sounds of a new counterculture.
The attack on Chile’s democracy on 11 September 1973 began a dictatorship that would last for 17 years, the darkest period in the county’s history. Throughout these years, music was vital in preserving memory and inspiring hope. Music became a form of resistance.
Join us for a night celebrating Chile’s rich history of protest songs.
