A new year and a super fresh line up of tropical rhythms and global sounds to keep you moving. Brighton's fabulous Dende will have you limbo-ing to their good time blend of Calypso, Ska, Cumbia and anything that makes you move from the Caribbean to the Amazon. Whilst Djanan Turan and her band mixes her Eastern roots with Cabaret esque sounds and original swing flavour. And Chili Sin Carne make a welcome debut at Hoots with an upbeat blend of Spanish Rumba, Flamenco & Latin to warm things up early. Movimientos DJs keep it jumping joining the dots between latin rhythms, global bass and tropical carnival soundss.

Tropical roots big band - Cumbia to Calypso, Ska and Brazilian rhythms
Dende are a Brighton based big band playing a unique and eclectic mix of tunes with a firm rooting in Afro-Latin styles: Chicha, Cumbia, Reggae, Ska, Dub, Psychedelic country, Brazilian, Drum and Bass, Afro-everything. The name DENDE comes from an Afro-Brazilian expression which means if you have 'Dende' you have 'soul' or 'a strong spirit', and the these guys have that in bucket loads.

From Eastern delights to Waltz, Cabaret, Rock and goodtime Swing
Djanan is a quirky, witty singer song writer of Turkish origin. With her 5 piece band, they play a diverse mixture of original songs reflecting their lifetime musical influences from Eastern to Waltz, Cabaret to Rock and original swing delights.
CHILI SIN CARNE
Spanish Rumba, Flamenco & Latin beats
Pablo Fernandez 'El Chino' (La Isla de San Fernando, Spain) leads this upbeat outfit on Gipsy vocals and ?Percussion accompanied by Sebastian Diez (Fernando's Kitchen) on Guitar, and Leon Itzler on groovy Bass.
Inspired by the likes of Paco De Lucia, Ojos De Brujo and Buena Vista Social Club, band was ?formed recently in London and delivers high energy sets of Rumba and Latin numbers, as well as sophisticated instrumental classics, Boleros and Latin standards.
