Following July's roadblock affair Movimientos return for another packed night of Latin and tropical dancefloor beats, upcoming bands from the scene, a specially-curated Latin-themed drinks menu and pure good vibes. We also celebrate the launch of Nascente Record's?Beginner's Guide To Latin America - a 3 CD exploration of some classic and contemporary Latin American rhythms compiled by Movimientos' very own Cal Jader, with copies to give away on the night.
DJs Cal Jader and Arias continue to make Movimientos one of the most forward-thinking Latin nights in the capital with their selection of new and old school Latin rhythms from salsa and cumbia to tropical bass, Brazilian, urban and electronic beats.
Live music comes from a diverse selection of London based acts from the Latin and global music scene.
7Suns is a group whose music is an energising blend of Afro-Latin, Caribbean, funk, jazz and rock with strong melodies and uptempo rhythms and played with a deliciously danceable quality and fantastic rock intensity. www.myspace.com/7suns
Remolino Quieto is the brainchild of established Cuban singer and songwriter Ramsay Estevez, whose band, featuring some of London's top Cuban players, combines his Latin spirit with folk and reggae influences. www.soundcloud.com/ramsayandthereptiles
Namvula Rennie is a singer songwriter who explores her Zambian-Scottish roots through her music. Her evocative songs speak of love and life, belonging and wandering, musically combining jazz, folk and African music.
